  WARRANT ISSUED FOR STALKING

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office issued warrants for Menacing by Stalking and Telephone Harassment, both felonies, on an Akron male after he called a Coventry Township woman making lewd comments.

The male, Tonny Fields, age 23, of Bellevue St. in Akron, made several phone calls on different days to the victim in the early morning hours.  He made lewd, sexual comments and told the victim he was watching her and described her home.  He also told her he could not be caught because he was using a pre-paid phone.  As the sheriff’s deputy was investigating, she found ten other female victims in Akron, Coventry, and Cuyahoga Falls. All of them had similar experiences.

The charges, normally misdemeanors, were elevated to felonies because the suspect had previous convictions for the same offenses.  The sheriff’s deputy will seek additional charges at the Grand Jury for the other victims.  Mr. Fields has not been located and anyone knowing his whereabouts should call Deputy Linda Urycki at 330-643-2181.

FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO INSPECTOR WILLIAM HOLLAND AT 330-643-5091.
