Bureau hours of operation will be as follows:
Monday CCW
application drop off & pick up licenses, Electronic Webcheck,
Reports
pick ups, etc.
Tuesday **Closed to Public (Except 9:30 am-11:00 am) for Ink Roll card
appointments.
Wednesday CCW
application drop off & pick up licenses, Electronic Webcheck,
Reports pick ups, etc.
Thursday **Closed to Public (Except 1:30 pm-3:00 pm) for Ink Roll card
appointments.
Friday
CCW pick up licenses only, Electronic Webcheck,
Reports pick ups, etc.
Our hours will be 8:00
am to 4:00 pm.

INCIDENT
& ACCIDENT REPORTS
|
Incident and Accident
reports are processed by Records Support Staff. Incident reports are generated
from various divisions of the Summit County Sheriff’s office. Incident and Accident
reports are public record and can be requested by phone, by mail, or in
person. If you are going to do a mail in request we ask that you
complete the request form and mail $1.50 check or money
order payable to SUMMIT COUNTY SHERIFF and it will be
processed and mailed back to you. If picking
up a report in person we ask that you call before you come in to the
department to make sure the report is available.

Incident & Accident
Scenes are retained in
the Records/ID Bureau. Records/ID Bureau Support Staff provide
assistance to Departmental Staff and the general public to review
Photographs. The purchase of copies by the general public according
to the County Fee Schedule is $1.00 per reprint.

FINGERPRINTING
|
The Records/Id Bureau provides
various fingerprint services that are requested by Law Enforcement, public
or private agencies. Applicants to Law Schools, State Liquor
Licenses, Explosive Licenses, Securities Licenses, Real Estate Licenses,
Salvage Junk Dealers, Auto Salesman and Applicants for Visas to Travel out
of the Country, Workers in occupations that involve care, custody, control
of children and are required by state law to be fingerprinted for
background check for employment. The Records/ID Bureau offers electronic
scanning of fingerprint images and ink roll print services to the general
public. Fee schedules for these services are established by Summit County Council as follows:

for fingerprinting. We do electronic fingerprinting M-F from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. We do Ink Roll fingerprinting on Tuesdays
from 9:30am to 11:00am and on Thursdays from 1:30pm to 3:00pm.

CRIMINAL
RECORDS CHECKS
|
The Records/ID Bureau
receives requests by telephone, by mail and in person from the general public
and various law enforcement or private agencies to research criminal
history files at the Summit County Jail. These requests are from Detective
Bureaus and Patrol Division of Law Enforcement agencies also several
Federal, State and Local Government Agencies. The fee schedule for
Criminal Records Checks is established by Summit County Council as follows:
Non-Government
$10.00
Governmental (non-law enforcement) $2.00
Governmental (law-enforcement) NO FEE

POST OFFICE
APPLICANTS
|
We have had several
requests for background checks for post office applicants. We only do
back ground checks if we are your local police agency. (Coventry, City of Green, Twinsburg Twp., Macedonia,
Northfield Center, Boston Twp.)
If we are not your local police department you must go to
jurisdiction in which you live and then to the Summit County Clerk of Courts for a county wide background
check. The court does charge a nominal fee for these checks.
