Yesterday, a jury
found Green guilty of Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony with a firearm
specification; Kidnapping, a first-degree felony with a firearm specification;
Failure to Comply, a third-degree felony; and Aggravated Menacing, a
first-degree misdemeanor. Green also pleaded guilty to a first-degree
misdemeanor charge of Domestic Violence; Having Weapons While Under Disability,
a third-degree felony; and Violation of Protection Order, a fifth-degree felony.
Furthermore, Judge Cosgrove classified Green as a Repeat Violent Offender.
On April 18, Green
had his brother-in-law drive him to the home of a female acquaintance. When they
arrived at the woman’s house, Green forced his brother-in-law into the trunk of
his car and took his keys and wallet because he was angry that the
brother-in-law had disclosed to the female acquaintance where Green lived.
However, Green neglected to take his brother-in-law’s cell phone, so he was able
to call 911 from the trunk.
Police located Green
driving the car after he fired a gun numerous times at the female’s home,
prompting several calls to 911 from neighbors. Green then led the police on a
high-speed chase, eventually hitting a car and then a fire hydrant. Green then
ran from the car, but was caught when he reached a fence. The brother-in-law was
found unharmed in the trunk of his car.
