Akron Man Guilty of Unlawful Sexual Conduct

(February 8, 2012… Akron) … Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that a jury found Jarod Wood, 30, of Twin Pines Drive in Uniontown, guilty of Unlawful Sexual Conduct, a felony of the third degree.

In late October 2010, Wood was rehabbing a house next door to where a 15-year-old girl lived with her family. One evening he purchased some pizza and alcohol while hanging out with the girl, one of her friends and the girl’s siblings. At some point in the evening, Wood and the girl went into an upstairs bedroom, where he performed oral sex on her. Later in the evening, the victim’s mother noticed her daughter seemed drunk and started questioning her about where she got the alcohol. The victim eventually admitted everything that had happened that evening, and the mother called the police.

Upon hearing the verdict, Judge Tammy O’Brien revoked Wood’s bond. He will be sentenced on March 8.
