Northfield Home Invaders Plead Guilty

(October 4, 2011… Akron) … Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that Robert Linde, 25, of Cable Line Road in Diamond, Ohio and Angelo J. Santamaria, 53, of Cranbrook Drive in Northfield Center, pled guilty today to Aggravated Robbery, a first-degree felony, and Aggravated Burglary, a first-degree felony.

On the morning of May 17, a Northfield man noticed two masked men in his backyard. As he called 911, he heard them tampering with the lock on his sliding back door. On the advice of the 911 operator, the man hid in a secure location while police were sent to his home.

When the victim heard police arrive, he left his hiding space, but Linde and Santamaria were still in the house. They attacked the victim, wrestling him to the floor and placing him in a chokehold. Sheriff’s Deputy Wes Dobbins entered the home and arrested Linde and Santamaria at gunpoint before they could further harm the victim.

Judge Thomas Teodosio will sentence Linde and Santamaria on November 2.
