Man Receives 50 years to Life for Multiple Counts of Rape

(October 25, 2011… Akron) … Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that Earl Martin, 43, of Ripley Avenue in Akron, was sentenced by Judge Alison McCarty to 50 years to life for the rape and molestation of young girls.

On September 7, 2011, Martin was found guilty by a jury of four counts of Rape, first-degree felonies, and seven counts of Gross Sexual Imposition, third-degree felonies.

Martin molested young female relatives and some of their female friends over a 20-year span. There were six victims, whose ages ranged from three to 11 when the abuse occurred.
