Hanly Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison for Strangling Sister

 

(October 26, 2011… Akron) … Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that Lawrence Hanly, 37, of Munroe Falls Avenue in Munroe Falls, pleaded guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter, a first-degree felony, and Felonious Assault, a second-degree felony.

 

Hanly strangled the victim, his sister, on New Year’s Day after she repeatedly badmouthed and threatened to kill their mother. After the attack, Hanly walked to the Munroe Falls police station and confessed.

 

Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands sentenced Hanly to 13 years in prison.
