Fillinger Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

(December 28, 2011… Akron) … Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that Judge Lynne Callahan sentenced Justin Fillinger, 25, of Sladden Avenue in Garfield Heights, to four years in prison.

On May 20, Fillinger placed an M1000 explosive on the wheel of a Northfield Village police officer’s private vehicle. The vehicle was in the parking lot of the Northfield Village Police Department, close to the Northfield Village Administration Building and a private home. Fillinger lit the explosive’s fuse and ran, but the fuse burned out before igniting the bomb.

Fillinger pleaded guilty to Attempted Aggravated Arson, a second-degree felony, and Inducing Panic, a fourth-degree felony, on November 16.
