Lorenzo Guilty on Drug Charges

(September 26, 2011… Akron) … Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that Antonio J. Lorenzo, 49, of East Exchange Street in Akron was found guilty today by visiting Judge Rheinbold of Possession of Drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor.

When IRS agents were executing a federal search warrant in Lorenzo’s office on January 25, 2011, they found a large folder containing several needles and two vials of testosterone. Lorenzo denied any knowledge of the drugs, claiming they must have been in clothing he purchased at an estate sale. However, labels on the back of the vials proved the testosterone was manufactured three months after the clothing’s previous owner died.

Lorenzo will be sentenced on October 25 at 1:30 p.m.
