Judge Teodosio Grants Custody Of Mignano Child

Summit County Juvenile Court Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio today granted permanent legal custody of 8-year old Anthony Mignano to his great-uncle, Richard Mignano of Akron.

The boy gained widespread attention by running away from his foster home, taking a car from a factory parking lot and driving it for miles on Route 8 before an alert motorist intervened and stopped the boy.

Prosecutors, Children’s Services and attorneys for the boy’s mother and father informed Judge Teodosio that an agreement had been reached that would place the child in his great-uncle’s care. Judge Teodosio signed the order immediately following the hearing to allow the placement process to begin.

As part of the agreement, the parents can visit their son at the discretion of Richard Mignano, who now assumes parental responsibility for the boy.

“I was pleased that both sides could come to a decision that was made in the best interests of the boy,” said Judge Teodosio.
