JUDGE TEODOSIO RULES ON LANGDON CUSTODY CASE

 Summit County Juvenile Court Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio today granted legal custody of 8-year old Keonte Langdon to his maternal grandmother, Hattie Langdon of Akron.

 Judge Teodosio heard testimony from Keonte’s Children Services Board caseworker and the court-appointed Guardian ad Litem. Both witnesses recommended that Keonte remain in the grandmother’s home where he was placed upon his release from Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron following an incident in which his mother and sister drowned in Summit Lake.

 During the hearing, Hattie Langdon told the Court that Keonte is slowly adjusting to the loss of his mother and sister, attending school regularly, receiving counseling and that she is trying to provide a stable home for him.

 Said Judge Teodosio: “I have no reservations about following the recommendations offered here today and I will grant Ms. Langdon legal custody of Keonte. I have observed the close, loving relationship she has with her grandson. He is a treasure and I am very comfortable turning over custody of this treasure to his grandmother. I wish you both the very best.”
