Summit County Contract Negotiations Successfully Completed

Today, Tuesday, September 11, 2007, the Summit County Fiscal Office announced that contract negotiations between AFSCME Ohio Council 8 and Local 1229 were successfully completed. The new contract was ratified by the union on September 10, 2007.

According to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Summit County Fiscal Office bargaining unit employees will receive a 3% pay increase for each of the next three years.

Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s Office represented the Summit County Fiscal Office for the economic issues affecting the new contract. “I am very pleased that my office was able to play a significant role in this process,” said Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry. “My administration looks forward to working with AFSCME to serve the people of this county.”

Summit County Fiscal Officer John Donofrio was also pleased with the outcome of the contract negotiations. “My employees, who are members of this bargaining unit, are important to the operation of the Summit County Auditor’s Division,” said Summit County Fiscal Officer John Donofrio. “I am pleased that the negotiations were carried out in an amicable and efficient manner.”

The new contract is effective from September 1, 2007 through August 31, 2010.
