County Executive Russell M. Pry Opens Employment Transition Center
in Chrysler Stamping Plant
Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry opened a temporary employment
transition center within the Chrysler Stamping Plant, located at 2000
Aurora Road in Twinsburg. The County of Summit Executive’s Office
established the center as a way to begin assisting soon to be displaced
auto workers in identifying future education, training, and employment
opportunities.
Chrysler Stamping Plant employees may access the employment transition
center on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1 pm to 5:00 pm. During
hours of operation, representatives from the Summit County Department of
Job and Family Services, as well as agents from the State of Ohio and a
regional collaborative of workforce investment partners, will be on hand
to individually meet with the employees and link individuals to
training, education, and employment opportunities.
Auto workers who access the employment transition center will also be
encouraged to familiarize themselves with the services being offered at
The Job Center at 1040 E. Tallmadge Avenue, Akron, Ohio and on
Ohiomeansjobs.com .
Services are being funded through a U.S. Department of Labor National
Emergency Grant (NEG) that supports innovative strategies that assist
dislocated workers, and the communities in which they live and work, to
recover economically from the effects of plan closures and mass layoffs.
