County Executive Russell M. Pry's Division of Animal Control to
Participate in Adopt-a-thon, Pardon My Pooch
On Saturday, September 19, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., representatives
from County Executive Russell M. Pry's Division of Animal Control will
participate in One of a Kind Pet Rescue's 4th annual Adopt-A-Thon at
Hardesty Park, located at 1615 W. Market Street in west Akron.
The County of Summit will be featuring adoptable cats and dogs. The cost
to adopt a dog fully treated is $90; while, the cost to adopt a cat
fully treated is $60. Full treatment includes: license (if necessary),
shots, spay or neuter services, flea treatments and intestinal
de-worming services.
Representatives from Pry's Pardon My Pooch program will also be on-site
for the purpose of selling dog licenses and waiving the $14 late-fee
regularly charged to citizens who have yet to purchase a 2009 Summit
County Dog License.
The cost to purchase a dog license is $14. Licenses for dogs providing
assistance to citizens with disabilities are free of charge and valid
throughout the duration of the animal's life. Proof of training must be
submitted.
