Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry, County Council Members Discuss Civic Issues with Southern Summit County Officials

On Saturday, February 2, 2008, Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry, Summit County Council Member, District 7, Tim Crawford and Summit County Council Member, District 8, Paula Prentice, co-hosted a Government-to-Government Leaders Day Breakfast meeting at the Firestone Metro Parks, Coventry Oaks Pavilion, located at 40 Axline Avenue in Akron.

The meeting allowed county officials to meet with over 35 community leaders from the following districts: the City of Barberton, the City of New Franklin, City of Norton, Coventry Township, Springfield Township and the Village of Clinton.

“The event gave local community representatives an opportunity to personally voice their comments, questions and concerns on issues affecting southern Summit County,” said Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry. “I appreciated their participation and I look forward to meeting with these representatives again in the future.”

In addition to Pry, Crawford and Prentice, the following officials served as members of the guest panel: Metro Parks, Serving Summit County Director-Secretary Keith Shy, Summit County Director of Community and Economic Development Patrick J. D’Andrea and Summit County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Annette Petranic.

The topics of community partnerships, economic development, education, emergency management, grant opportunities and infrastructure were discussed.
