Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry to Sponsor Money Management Workshop for Youth and Parents

On Tuesday, January 29, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m., Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s Youth Employment for Success (YES) program will sponsor a FREE Money Management Workshop for YES participants and their parent(s) and/or guardian(s). The workshop is being held at 140 East Market Street in downtown Akron.

Summit County Youth Employment for Success is a program that provides academic support, leadership development, job skills training, and subsidized employment to Summit County youth, ages 16-18, as a way to help participants meet their academic and career goals.

All event participants will receive a money management workbook; while, representatives from Third Federal Bank and the County of Summit Office of Consumer Affairs present information on the following topics:

  • Banking (opening savings/checking accounts, direct deposit and debit card use)
  • Cellular Phones (managing expenses)
  • Credit Cards (avoiding traps and debt)
