Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry Recognize Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio, Muffins for Mammograms

On Tuesday, October 21, 2008, Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry and the Summit County Social Services Advisory Board (SSAB) hosted the 2008 Making a Difference Human Services Forum at The University of Akron, Student Union.

The Making a Difference Human Services Forum is an annual event designed to bring professionals from health and social service disciplines together in an effort to provide them with continuing education opportunities, information about on-going community initiatives, programs and resources.

During the luncheon portion of the forum, Executive Pry and Karen Talbott, chair of the SSAB, honored Summit County Juvenile Court Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio with the 2008 Making a Difference Human Service Award. The honor recognizes extraordinary achievements, by an individual or organization, in the area of provision of human services that assist individuals in maintaining or achieving self-sufficiency.

“Judge Teodosio is a community leader who has made significant improvements to the Summit County judicial system and the Summit County community as a whole,” said Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry. “She is very deserving of this prestigious award.”

A 2008 Making a Difference Human Services Award was also presented to Akron General Medical Center and Main Street Gourmet for their efforts in sponsoring Muffins for Mammograms, an annual initiative that funds mammography services for local, uninsured women.
