Executive Pry Calls for Job Ready Sites Applications

Summit County Executive and District 8 Public Works Integrating Committee Chair Russell M. Pry is soliciting grant applications for the Ohio Job Ready Sites (JRS) Program for Fiscal Years 2008 and 2009. District 8 applications are due to the Summit County Department of Community and Economic Development no later than Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 4:00 PM. All applications should be submitted to the attention of Nick Lautzenheiser, District 8 Liaison. Applications will be scored and ranked by the District 8 Public Works Integrating Committee prior to submission to the Ohio Department of Development on July 1, 2008.

The Job Ready Sites (JRS) program provides grants of up to $5 million for land and building acquisition, building improvement and construction, site planning and engineering, environmental remediation, and infrastructure improvements. The JRS program is intended to fill gaps in Ohio’s current site inventory and foster reinvestment in developed areas.

Eligible applicants include political subdivisions, non-profit economic development organizations, and private, for-profit entities that obtain prior approval from the Director of the Ohio Department of Development to submit application materials.
