Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry Holds Networking Event to
Benefit the Sierra Club
On Thursday, January 31, 2008, Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry
hosted a Change for Change after work, networking gathering to benefit
the Sierra Club, Portage Trail Chapter. The event was held at Rockne’s
Pub, located at 7 Merriman Road in Akron, and raised $712 in tips and
donations.
“The Sierra Club is a grassroots environmental organization that
promotes responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources around
the globe. The Portage Trail Chapter plays a significant role in
protecting/restoring our local environment,” said Summit County
Executive Russell M. Pry. “I am sure the Sierra Club will put the tips
and donations to good use.”
Change for Change is a monthly networking program. All of the tips
earned, by the generous Rockne’s Pub serving staff, are donated to a
predetermined charity and/or cause.
The next Change for Change event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26,
2008, from 4:30 till 7:00 p.m. and will benefit the Akron Urban League.
The public is invited. Future events and participating charities will be
announced.
