Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry Raises Money to Benefit the
United Service Organization (USO)
On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry
hosted a Change for Change after work, networking gathering to benefit
the United Service Organization (USO) of Northern Ohio. The event was
held at Rockne’s Pub, located at 7 Merriman Road in Akron, and raised
over $750 in tips and donations.
The USO of Northern Ohio was established in 1941 to serve the needs of
troops during World War II. Today, the organization staffs four
employees, coordinates over 400 volunteers, operates two facilities and
offers numerous programs that support thousands of military personnel
and their families each month.
“It was an honor and a privilege to raise money for an organization that
does so much to assist our local soldiers and their families,” said
Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry. “I am sure the USO will put
these donated dollars to great use.”
Change for Change is a monthly networking program. All of the tips
earned, by the generous Rockne’s Pub serving staff, are donated to a
predetermined non-profit organization and/or cause. Future events and
participating charities will be announced.
