Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry's Department of Animal
Control Joins Petfinder and Petco Foundation for One-Day Seminar
On Sunday, April 20, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Petfinder and Petco
Foundation, in cooperation with Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s
Department of Animal Control, will offer “Adoption Options,” a one-day
seminar at the Job Center, 1040 East Tallmadge Road in Akron.
The seminar will bring popular presentations and speakers in animal
welfare and will serve as a networking opportunity in the County of
Summit. Featured speakers will include Kim Saunders, vice president of
shelter outreach and public relations for Petfinder.com, the first and
most successful homeless pet network on the Internet, Barbara Carr,
executive director of Erie County, SPCA, Dr. Miranda Spindel, director
of veterinary outreach for ASPCA, and Sue Sternberg, one of the nation’s
most respected shelter dog trainers.
Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s Department of Animal Control
was honored to be chosen to host the “Adoption Options” seminar. The
seminar will focus on tips for marketing pets online, adoptions
promotions, disease transmission and sanitation protocols, and training
shelter dogs. Representatives from Summit County Animal Control will
also be on site to answer questions and provide information about
services provided.
