Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry's Department of Animal Control Joins Petfinder and Petco Foundation for One-Day Seminar

On Sunday, April 20, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Petfinder and Petco Foundation, in cooperation with Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s Department of Animal Control, will offer “Adoption Options,” a one-day seminar at the Job Center, 1040 East Tallmadge Road in Akron.

The seminar will bring popular presentations and speakers in animal welfare and will serve as a networking opportunity in the County of Summit. Featured speakers will include Kim Saunders, vice president of shelter outreach and public relations for Petfinder.com, the first and most successful homeless pet network on the Internet, Barbara Carr, executive director of Erie County, SPCA, Dr. Miranda Spindel, director of veterinary outreach for ASPCA, and Sue Sternberg, one of the nation’s most respected shelter dog trainers.

Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s Department of Animal Control was honored to be chosen to host the “Adoption Options” seminar. The seminar will focus on tips for marketing pets online, adoptions promotions, disease transmission and sanitation protocols, and training shelter dogs. Representatives from Summit County Animal Control will also be on site to answer questions and provide information about services provided.
