Executive Russell M. Pry Keeps ECS Tuning in Summit County,
Additional Employment Opportunities.
On Monday, March 3, 2008, Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry
announced that the County of Summit has entered into a partnership with
the City of Barberton to offer additional tax incentives to ECS Tuning,
a local company looking to consolidate its main office and storage
operations into one main facility within the Barberton Enterprise Zone.
ECS Tuning is an independent company that specializes in the
distribution of Volkswagen / Audi performance aftermarket tuning parts
and OEM Volkswagen / Audi replacement parts.
ECS Tuning, presently located at 3095 Cleveland-Massillon Road in
Norton, plans to build their new, $1.5 million facility on Wooster Road
in Barberton. As a result of being located within the Barberton
Enterprise Zone, the company will be 100% exempt from paying Real
Property Tax, on their new building, for the next 10 years.
“ECS Tuning plays an important role in our local economy,” said Summit
County Executive Russell M. Pry. “The company presently employs 24
workers and the new facility is projected to add six new employment
opportunities.”
Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s Department of Community and
Economic Development has the ability to coordinate: the distribution of
Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Community Reinvestment Area
Agreements, Enterprise Zone Agreements, entrance into Foreign Trade Zone
Sites and participation in the Summit Business Partnership.
“Retaining businesses and creating jobs in Summit County is a major
priority for my administration,” added Pry. “I am very pleased that ECS
Tuning has committed to expanding their business operations in Summit
County.”
