Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry's Capital Improvement
Program Approved by County Council
On Monday, March 3, 2008, Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) was approved by the members of Summit
County Council.
The Summit County Charter requires the County Executive to submit a CIP
to County Council on an annual basis. The document includes a detailed
capital improvement plan proposed for the current fiscal year, 2008, and
program of projects for the period of 2009 through 2013.
The approved CIP contains detailed plans to fiscally support the
following capital improvement projects:

Construction of a new Veterans Service Commission Building

Construction of a new Summit County Animal Control Facility

Construction of a new Summit County Sheriff’s Administration Building
and renovations to the Summit County Jail

Renovations to the Summit County Courthouse to provide space for two
new judgeships

Expansion of the Summit County sewer system in southern Summit County
A Canal Corridor and Greenway Grant to the Ohio & Erie Canal Coalition
In addition to the proposed construction projects, land purchases and
renovations, the document also details the financial role the County of
Summit will play in financing the public
improvements needed to keep the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s World
and North American Headquarters in Summit County.
“I appreciate Summit County Council’s support of this plan,” said Summit
County Executive Russell M. Pry. “I am looking forward to implementing
this program.”
