Executive Pry Retains ALRO Steel Corp. In Summit County, New Employment Opportunities

On, Monday, June 16, 2008, Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry entered into a partnership with the City of Cuyahoga Falls to offer tax incentives to the ALRO Steel Corporation, a company looking to expand its operations within the Cuyahoga Falls Enterprise Zone.

The ALRO Steel Corporation specializes in processing and redistributing steel and industrial supplies to local automobile and machine companies.

ALRO Steel Corp., located at 4787 State Road in Cuyahoga Falls, plans to begin their multi-million dollar expansion project in late-June 2008. The expansion will double the company’s warehouse; add office space, equipment and employees.

As a result of being located within the Cuyahoga Falls Enterprise Zone, the company will be 75% exempt from paying Real Property Tax on their expanded facility for the next 10 years.

“ALRO Steel plays an important role in our local economy,” said Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry. “The company presently employs 55 workers and the new facility is projected to add 10 new employment opportunities.”

Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s Department of Community and Economic Development has the ability to coordinate: the distribution of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Community Reinvestment Area Agreements, Enterprise Zone Agreements, entrance into Foreign Trade Zone Sites and participation in the Summit Business Partnership.

“Retaining businesses and creating new jobs in Summit County is a major priority for my administration,” added Pry. “I am very pleased to know that ALRO Steel is committed to expanding their businesses operations in Summit County.”
