Summit County Department of Animal Control Seeks Volunteers Summit County Executive James B. McCarthy’s Department of Animal Control is currently seeking volunteers to assist with walking dogs, bathing and feeding animals, cleaning cages and other activities. Citizens interested in volunteering should submit an application to the Summit County Department of Animal Control, 460 East North Street, Akron, Ohio 44304. Citizens without Internet access may contact the Summit County Department of Animal Control at 330-643-2845 to have an application forwarded to them directly.
