Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry Announces The Distribution
of $650 Thousand In Grants
Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry’s Department of Community and
Economic Development announced the distribution of additional 2007
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership
Program (HOME) funds, totaling $653,500.00.
The following grants have been awarded:

City of Stow: Funds will be used to replace 1,910 lineal feet of
waterline on Cherryhurst Drive from Maplehurst Drive to Paulann Drive
and from Paulann Drive to Fishcreek Road. Total amount awarded:
$200,000.00.

Professional Services: Funds will be used for engineering costs,
blight survey and environmental assessment for drainage and right of
way improvements in the lower elevation areas in Lakemore from
Sanitarium Road to Lakeside Drive (between Lake and Hilda). Total
amount awarded: $325,000.00.

Summit County HWAP Renewal: Funds will be used in conjunction with
other state and local funds to provide low-to-moderate income
homeowners with assistance through the weatherization program. Total
amount awarded: $22,500.00.

Summit County Waiver Demolition Program: Funds will be used to
subsidize the cost of demolishing vacant properties throughout Summit
County, except in the Cities of Akron, Barberton and Cuyahoga Falls.
Total amount awarded: $75,000.00.

Village of Mogadore, Senior Center (Alternate Project): Funds will be
used for necessary repairs to their Senior Center. Repairs will
include replacement of the existing deteriorated roof, new windows,
awning, brick veneer and other structural repairs. Total amount
awarded: $96,000.00.
“The release of these additional funds during the current fiscal year
are crucial to the initiation of the County of Summit’s joint venture to
revitalize the area affected by last year’s flooding in the Village of
Lakemore,” said Summit County Executive Russell M. Pry. “It also allows
the County to fund other worthy projects.”
