The Summit County Special Operations Response Teams' Executive Board was established on November 21, 1994. The purpose of this board is to oversee the activities of both the Summit County Hazardous Materials Response Team and the Summit County Technical Rescue Operations Team which includes water rescue, high angle, confined space and trench rescue. The board is made up of the following:

Bath Township Fire Department
Township and village fire departments
Valerie DeRose, Senior Administrator Summit County Emergency Management Agency
Phillip McLean, Director of Training, University of Akron Training Center for Fire The University of Akron

Three members shall serve three-year terms and two members shall serve for two-year terms. All five members will serve three-year terms after they complete their initial term. All members are appointed by the Summit County Executive. Board meetings are held monthly.
