Summit County EDTF, in conjunction with the Akron Regional Chamber of Commerce and the City of Macedonia contracted with Silverlode Consulting Corp., to complete an analysis of the potential economic and fiscal impacts that could result from the future development of an area of approximately 900 acres adjacent to SR 8 (located on the east side of State Route 8 and bounded by Highland Road to the north and Hines Hill Road to the south).

There are concerns about potential negative impacts that could result from development within the site, however it is also understood that the area is attractive for future development. The site contains significant woodlands, is bisected by the Brandywine Creek and its associated floodplain, and contains many wetlands. The site includes privately owned land in Macedonia, Northfield Center Township, and the Village of Boston.
