A new era in public assistance has dawned and the Department of Job and Family Services is at the forefront of the county's welfare reform effort. The primary goal of Job and Family Services is to assist our citizens in obtaining and maintaining employment (or entering the workforce). The staff emphasizes education and training in the areas that will best suit the clients to find gainful employment. The agency also helps the county's senior citizen community by overseeing Medicaid and other programs.
