General
Filing Requirements
The Ninth District Court of
Appeals does not accept any faxed or electronic filings at this time.
Notice of Appeal
The cost to file is $85.00. It is required that the original along
with 6 copies must be filed. A Docketing Statement is required at
the time of filing which will be provided by the Clerk's Office. A
Copy of Judgment that is being appealed must be attached to the
Docketing Statement. A Praecipe to Court Reporter, the original
and 2 copies, that is acknowledged and signed by the Reporter prior to
filing, is also required.
Original Actions
The cost to file is $85.00. It is required that the original
Petition and 6 copies be filed. Instructions for Service are also
required. All service by certified mail unless specified by law or
specific instructions for service.
Pleadings and Motions
It is required that the original along with 3 copies, one of which will
be returned, must be filed.
Briefs
Appellants Briefs, Appellee's Briefs, Reply Briefs and Non-complying
Briefs all require the original and 3 copies for filing. Page
limitations: The initial and answer briefs shall not exceed thirty (30)
pages and reply briefs shall not exceed ten (10) pages, exclusive of the
appendix, summary of argument and index.
Application For Attorney Fees on Indigent Criminal Cases
It is required that 3 originals signed by the judge and 2 extra copies
be filed. One extra copy will be returned for your records.
Passport Information
Passports are only processed on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. When placing your application for a U. S. Passport,
please keep in mind that you will need to pay two separate fees.
One fee payable by check to Passport Services and the other payable to
the Clerk of Courts. The price breakdown is listed below.

Passport Renewal
All U.S. Passports are valid for 10 years. Passport renewal is a single
fee of $55.00 payable to Passport Services. You will need to send
your old passport along with your passport application to the following
