Pipe Bomb in Coventry Township

On January 4^th, 2012, shortly after 4:00 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad responded to a residence in Coventry Township in regards to a suspected pipe bomb. The item was located in the paper box of a residence on Homewood Drive. The Bomb Squad determined that the suspected item was in fact an actual pipe bomb. The Bomb Squad rendered the pipe bomb safe and an investigation was initiated.  

Any time a citizen finds a suspicious package, they should not attempt to examine or move suspicious packages. Please contact the Summit County Sheriff’s Office or your local police department.
