Magistrate Bradford Christman

Law and order has seemed to play a vital role in the professional life of Magistrate Bradford Christman.

Following his graduation from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1975, Christman enlisted in the United States Army and served three years in Germany as a member of the Army’s Military Police Corps.

Upon his return home from the service, Christman enrolled in The University of Akron, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983 with a split major of Criminal Justice and Political Science.

He entered the university’s School of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1986. During his tenure in law school, he gained experience as a Coordinator in the Appellate Review Office. In 1987, Magistrate Christman began work as a Judicial Attorney for the Ninth District Court of Appeals before heading to the Prosecutor’s Office from 1989 to 1991.

He then joined the Summit County Children Services Board initially serving as the agency’s Government Affairs Attorney, and then Staff Attorney responsible for Juvenile Court practice, a position he maintained for 11 years until joining the Juvenile Court in January 2003.

Among his many community activities, Magistrate Christman has been a Board Member for Admore, Inc. for the last five years.

He has been married to Deanne Christman-Resch since 1986 and he is an avid kayaker.
