JUDGE TEODOSIO ANNOUNCES DIVERSION ALLOCATIONS

Summit County Juvenile Court Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio announced this week the Juvenile Court has earmarked $182,071 to subsidize diversion programs in 13 communities and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Youth diversion programs are designed to serve unruly and misdemeanant youngsters within the jurisdiction of the community’s police department.

Judge Teodosio informed police departments in Akron, Barberton, Bath, Copley, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Lakemore, Mogadore, Munroe Falls, Springfield, Stow, Tallmadge and Twinsburg they would receive the funding to maintain their diversion programs. The City of Akron received the largest allocation at $55,107. The Sheriff’s Office received $30,000.

“The Court is fortunate that we can establish and maintain partnerships such as these,” said Judge Teodosio. “With the diversion programs working with low-level, first-time offenders in their communities, it allows the Court to focus on addressing the more serious cases that come before it.
