LONGTIME COURT ADMINISTRATOR TO RETIRE

Summit County Juvenile Court Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio announced today that Court Administrator David S. Alexander intends to retire at the end of this month after nearly 30 years at the Court.

Few individuals have logged more time in the juvenile justice system than the 52 year old Alexander. After graduating from Garfield High School in 1969, he attended the University of Akron and received his undergraduate degree in 1973 and earned his Masters in 1976.

Alexander joined the Court in August 1973 as a Detention Group Counselor. He advanced through the ranks and was promoted to Court Administrator under Judge William Kannel.

He left the Court in 1991 to serve as Assistant Director of Mental Health Services with the Summit County ADM Board before returning as Court Administrator in 1997.

“I have tremendous respect for Dave Alexander and the leadership he provided this Court for so many years,” said Judge Teodosio. “He is very well regarded in the community and he definitely will be missed here.”

Judge Teodosio also announced that current Court Finance Director Robert Bickett has agreed to accept the Court Administrator’s job effective November 1st.

Said Judge Teodosio, “Bob knows he has big shoes to fill, but his performance as Finance Director these past nine months has convinced me he has the same qualities to succeed in this position that Dave Alexander brought to the job, and that is indeed high praise.”
